It’s the days like the last few that truly make life at Notaro Care Home so special, as both residents and staff members at all Notaro Care Homes enjoyed a wonderful long weekend, celebrating Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee and all things royalty.
Here is just a taster of what we got up to…
Scarecrows and Singalongs!
At La Fontana in Martock, both residents and staff were getting creative in the weekend’s build-up, enjoying constructing scarecrows for the village’s annual competition, entering our version of Her Majesty The Queen herself this year!
Aspen Court was filled with music and entertainment, as the wonderful Darin provided us with an afternoon of summertime singalongs. Cakes and puddings were enjoyed as we basked in the garden’s sunshine, enjoying the music.
Decking the Halls
All Notaro Care Homes were decorated with some Great British bunting, with Union Jacks lining the walls, masks of the Royal Family dotted around for the residents to enjoy laughs with, and banners and balloons celebrating Her Majesty aplenty!
It wasn’t just the interior of our homes that were decked out to celebrate – in the gardens across Somerset and Devon, rose bushes were planted to celebrate the incredible 70 years of service many residents have had the pleasure of experiencing. A wonderful afternoon in the sunshine was had by all, with proceeds of this special rose variant being donated to Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST). We all look forward to watching these beautiful flowers grow and bloom in commemoration of our Queen.
Baked goods were on the menu at all Notaro Care Homes, as the team and residents enjoyed taking part in both baking and decorating special Jubilee-themed treats! From a Union Jack cake to setting up for afternoon tea, residents enjoyed getting stuck in and making the most of all the celebrations.
What a Weekend…
Laughs, reminiscing, and memories aplenty! We all pass on our huge thanks to Her Majesty once again, for an incredible 70 years (and counting!) serving under her name – and here’s to many more wonderful celebrations at Notaro Care Homes.
