You’ll find Cedar Lodge Dementia Care Home situated on the peaceful outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home overlooks a large attractive park and like every Notaro care home, has been thoughtfully designed with the needs of residents in mind.

We know that some of the symptoms of those living with dementia are confusion and anxiety, so Cedar Lodge Dementia Care Home has been designed to help our residents make sense of their surroundings. Walk along the corridors and you’ll spot carefully chosen pictures and memorabilia providing clear signposting for residents to navigate their way around the home. Reminiscence is important to support residents in finding their surroundings familiar, so we have introduced familiar landmarks such as a clock that chimes like Big Ben, an old red telephone box, a post box and a beautifully decorated Victorian bathroom.
Our dining area overlooks our gardens and is a light and airy social setting, and our lounges are comfortable welcoming places to relax with friends and family or to enjoy a social activity. Step into the gardens and you’ll find it a charming place to enjoy a quiet moment, join in our summer barbeques and to discover the delightful colours, fragrances and textures in our ‘sensory’ area. We have some unusual residents too, our bunny rabbits who have proven to be extremely popular. You’ll often find residents relaxing in the dining area, watching the bunnies hopping about and nibbling on the grass.
Attached to Cedar Lodge Dementia Care Home, Taunton is the Limes, a unit which provides support to 15 individuals aged from 25 years and above, who have a primary care need of Mental Disorder (MD). Everyone joining us have to be ‘needs assessed’ and we will consider persons under the age of 25 years providing we can meet their individual needs.
Our homes may well be dementia care homes, but first and foremost they are our residents’ homes. Each room and every space, has been created to be a comfortable place to relax and enjoy.
